Creative Marketing Ideas for your Hotel

Because sometimes you just have to get out of the same old way of doing things if you want to get noticed. Call it thinking outside the box, call it getting creative on a shoestring, there are plenty of ways to stand out.

Itinerary deals. If you get a lot of vacation, as opposed to business travel, or maybe you get a lot of business travel and would like to up your number of vacation bookings, try creating some ready-made itinerary packages with a stay at your hotel included.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as putting together tickets to a local attraction, coupons from a local restaurant, and vouchers for a local pub or pedicure salon, wrap it up with a little creative marketing writing, and there you go: A package deal.

Raise your local profile. Get involved in your local community. Sponsor things. Be proactive about putting together package deals with businesses, restaurants, sports teams and local clubs.

Off-beat holiday deals. Yes, you offer Valentine’s Day or Christmas or New Year’s holiday packages. But so does everyone else.

Stand out by offering Queen’s Birthday deals, St. Patrick’s Day deals and/or Anzac Day deals. Find unusual local historical dates and make up a “holiday package” to offer that weekend. This works especially well if there’s a local fair or special market or some kind of event that weekend.

Loyalty deals. They work for plenty of businesses from airlines to coffee shops, they’ll work for you if you do them right; perhaps offer a free night’s stay after the third booking. Whatever you do, make sure it’s something of genuine value to the guest and affordable for you. Maybe a free dinner if you book two rooms or even a Member’s Lounge for repeat guests.
