Hotel Room Clean Checklist Suggestions

We’re not going to tell you how to clean your hotel rooms, you can handle that. Here, we’re offering some housekeeping ideas that other hotels have found useful.

From the Housekeeping Award Checklist:

“Articles left behind by guests should be labeled with date found, room number, and the Room Attendant’s name, and given to management to be logged and stored in the lost and found locker.”

“Never tuck the top sheet under the mattress at the sides, as the bottom sheet will come loose when the guest pulls down the top sheet and blanket to get into bed.”

From SetUpMyHotel.com:

“Every guest room must be checked on daily basis by housekeeping supervisor, this will help the hotel to attain high guest satisfaction in terms of room comfort and also for safety reasons. If the floor supervisor is not been able to check the room by the end of shift, the Asst. Executive housekeeper must do it before releasing the room for guest occupancy.”

From “Secrets To Cleaning A Marriott Hotel Room:”

“Place clean fitted sheets on the nightstand. Strip the bed, and use dirty fitted sheet as a package for the rest. Place clean fitted sheet on right side of bed, and start with top corner, move to bottom right corner and cover in a clockwise progression. Do not "billow" sheets in order to prevent tired arms.”

From Kaivac.com:

“Instruct cleaning staff to check the entire room for maintenance issues. Damaged furnishings, torn upholstery, stained carpet and poorly functioning bathroom fixtures should be reported and fixed quickly.”
